Betty Jean Benoit Smith

Betty Jean Benoit Smith left this world to be with her husband Horace Smith on November 29, 2014 they were married 62 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents Marcel and Theresa Benoit, her brother, James Ray Benoit, her sister, Sybil Benoit Smith, and grandson Tyler Rogers. Betty was born August 27, 1929 in Grand Chenier, Louisiana. She graduated from Grand Chenier High School and Delta School of Business. She was an avid bowler and a member of the Women's International Bowling Congress for most of her life. She loved good cooking and her family. She was proud of her Cajun heritage and their French language. She leaves behind three daughters, Glenda and her husband Mark Huber of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Lydia and her husband Rick Williams of Anchorage, Alaska and Patricia and her husband Bruce Fairbanks of Humble, Texas. Betty had six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and one on the way. She had one great-great grandson. A memorial service will be held at Johnson's Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Monday December 2nd at 2 p.m. Visitation will begin on Monday at 12:00 PM until the time of services. Rev. Robby Bacon will be the celebrant.
