Betty Jean Soileau

Betty Jean Wright Soileau, 77, of Lake Charles passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 in the comfort of her home.

Mrs. Soileau was a life resident of Lake Charles. She attended Lake Charles High School. She enjoyed playing bingo and visiting the casinos. Mrs. Soileau was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, having devoted her life to caring for her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, nine children, Daniel Rome of Kansas City, MO, Jackie Celestine and husband James Tiny, Theresa Rome, Pamela Seibold, Debbie Rome, Patricia Hamilton, David Freeman and wife Sabrina, Robert Soileau and wife Malia and Joseph Soileau and wife Dana, all of Lake Charles; six step-sons; one step-daughter; seventy-six grandchildren; fifty-six great-grandchildren; thirty-four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Wright of Lake Charles and two sisters, Babydoll Richie and Thelma Lozano, both of Houston, TX.

She was preceded in death by her step-son, Robert Soileau and two grandchildren, Robert James Soileau and Betty Jean Freeman.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 16, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Vince Guidry will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation Sunday will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
