Betty Joan Dean

Betty Joan Dean, 84 of Sulphur, passed away on February 12, 2012 in her residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Father Thomas Huhn officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss, LA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 4-9p.m. at Robison Funeral Home Chapel with a Scripture Reading at 8 p.m. and will resume on Thursday at 8 a.m. until time of service. Betty was a native of Hackberry and a longtime Sulphur resident. She was a secretary at Our Lady School and Sulphur High School. Betty was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was also in the West Cal-Cam Auxiliary and Volunteered at Care Help. Betty is survived by her two sons, Lynn Dean of Lafayette and Randy Dean and wife, Lisa of Sulphur; daughter, Cindy Mercer and husband, Ronald of Toledo Bend, LA; sister, Wilda Gene Asanovich of Woodland Hills, CA; brother, Carl Preston Johnson and wife, Lou of Hackberry, LA; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Cap Dean; and brother, Fred Gordon Johnson.
