Betty Romero, 77 of Sulphur passed away on September 10, 2012 at Cornerstone Hospital in Sulphur. Funeral services will be held on Thursday. September 13, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Sulphur United Pentecostal Church with Rev. O L Gunter officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 3-9 p.m. at Robison Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 and will resume on Thursday, at the church at 9 a.m. until time of service. Betty was a native of Port Arthur and a long-time resident of Sulphur. For many years she and her husband owned and operated Sulphur Farmers Market and she later worked as the hostess at Cracker Barrel. Betty was affectionately known to all as Miss Betty . She was a member of Sulphur United Pentecostal Church. Betty is survived by her four sons, Ray Romero Jr. and wife, Debra of Nederland, TX, Calvin Romero and Michael Romero and wife, Angie all of Sulphur; and Fonda Morris and wife, Evelyn of Bridge City, TX; two sisters, Gloria Scherer and husband, Warren of Channelview, TX and Theresa Bourque of Angleton TX ; two brothers, Louis Wukasch of Sulphur and Sonny Wukasch and wife, Oogie of Channelview, TX; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the love of her life Ray Romero Sr.; and a sister, Doris Williams.
