Betty Lee Wilson

Betty Lee Wilson, 91, passed away on September 16, 2017 at a local care facility.

Mrs. Wilson was born in Cushing, OK, and then lived in Indiana before eventually settling in Lake Charles. In Lake Charles she worked as Dr. W.G. Fisher’s secretary, and then raised her children from home. Mrs. Wilson is a 30 year cancer survivor, an avid reader, who loved to dance.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Lee Battle; son, John Wilson and wife Jill; three grandchildren, Michelle Abshire, Samantha Wilson, and Ethan Richard; and two great grandchildren, Megan Abshire, and Vera Mae Abshire.

She is preceded in death by her husband of nearly thirty six years, Clyde E. Wilson; and parents, William and Alta Curley.

A funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home at 1PM on Saturday, September 23, 2017. Pastor Jody Robert will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10AM to 1PM on Saturday, September 23.
