Betty Lou Hebert

February 13, 1931 — June 9, 2016

Betty Hidalgo Hebert, 85, of Lake Charles, LA passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 in a local care facility surrounded by her loving family.

 

Betty was born on February 13, 1931 in Youngsville, LA to Willie and Rose Hidalgo. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and gardening. Betty was a member of Good Counsel Catholic Church for 15 years. She loved being around family and friends and was especially proud of her three sons.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 15 years, John O’Neal Hebert Sr.; three sons, Ronald James Chauvin and wife Sandra of Lake Charles, LA, David Wayne Chauvin and wife Suzie of Friendswood, TX, Mark Todd Chauvin and wife Mary of Lake Charles, LA; one brother, Walter Hidalgo and wife Novella of Erath, LA; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Luke Hidalgo, J.B. Hidalgo, and Etienne Hidalgo.

 

A mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 AM Monday, June 13, 2016 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:30 PM Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. Fr. Nathan Long will officiate services.

 

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Marquetta, Lauren, Emily, and Dana at the Guardian Nursing Facility along with the employees and staff of Harbor Hospice for the loving and compassionate care given to Mrs. Hebert and our family.
