Betty Ruth O'Quain Peveto, 82 passed away on September 13, 2014 in a local care center. Betty was born on March 13, 1932 in Gueydan, LA. She worked as a beautician for many years fixing many of her dear friends' hair. Betty was a Eucharist Minister for Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. She loved cleaning her house, working in her yard, visiting and watching her grandchildren play sports. Her children and their families were the joy of her life. Betty is survived by her two sons, Gary Peveto and wife Vickie and Gerald Peveto; a daughter, Kathy Peveto George and husband Gary; a brother, Dale O'Quain and wife Deanie; sister-in-law, Lena Mae O'Quain; 9 grandchildren, Kristy Como and husband Doug, Brent Peveto and wife Alice, Dennis Peveto, Derek Peveto and wife Tammy, Neil Peveto, Jaime Lee and husband Jared, Aaron George and fiancé Mary, Phil George and Jill Foreman and husband Micah;13 great-grandchildren, Geoffrey Como, Colton, Kyle and Braydon Peveto, Kiera Peveto, Cole and Reese Peveto, Molly Peveto, Colston Lee, Sydnei George, Bennett and Quincy Foreman, Kingston George; and step-great grandchildren, Dalton and Dylan LeBlanc. She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Dora O'Quain; a brother, Morris "Sonny" O'Quain; and her children's father, Robert Andrew Peveto. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur.. Burial will be in Farquhar Cemetery in Sulphur under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on from 4-9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of the service. The family would like to thank their extended family at Holly Hill House for taking such great care of their mother.
