Bettye Landry

Bettye Landry, 84, of Sulphur passed away on May 27, 2017 in a local hospital. Born Martha Elizabeth Martel, she was a lifelong residence of Sulphur and lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur.

Bettye is survived by  her husband of 64 years, William “Bill” Steven Landry of Sulphur; daughter, Dana Landry of San Antonio, TX; daughter-in-law, Carol Bourgeois Smith of Carlyss; 2 grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Smith and Logan Boyd Smith of Carlyss; sister, Natalie “Pam” Cryer; sister-in-law, Judy Burton and husband James; brother-in-law, Toby Landry; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Olivia Martel; son, Michael Steven Landry; sister, Helen Martel Thornal; and brother-in-laws, Theodore Thornal and William “Billy” Cryer.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2107 at 2:30 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with James Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home and will resume on Wednesday, May 31 from 12:30 P.M. until time of the service.
