Bettylu I. Allen

Bettylu Irene Allen, 59, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018, in a local hospital, with her family at her side.

Born in Sulphur, Louisiana to Thomas T. Allen, Jr., and Betty Sue Schwerdt Allen, Bettylu was a 1977 graduate of Sulphur High School and attended McNeese State University. She was co-owner of Paradise Florist for 29 years. She was of the Catholic faith. Bettylu was very involved with Mardi Gras throughout the years and was talented in making jewelry and painting. She also enjoyed gardening and had a passion for her animals.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory are her spouse, Libby Thibodeaux of Lake Charles; her brother, Chris Allen of Sulphur; and a host of dear and wonderful friends.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2018, at Johnson Funeral Home. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. Visitation at the funeral home will be on Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time.

The family would like to express their grateful appreciation for the compassionate care given their beloved Bettylu to the doctors and nurses at St. Patrick Hospital ICU, the nurses and staff at Amedisys Home Health, the nurses and staff at Calcasieu Cameron Wound Care and to Diane Joseph and Johnnie B. Walker.
