Beulah LeBlanc Thibodeaux Swaim, 84, of Lake Charles died at 4:10 PM on Sunday, November 2, 2014 in a local care facility. Mrs. Swaim was born on August 8, 1930 in Jennings, LA and spent most of her childhood in Sulphur. She married at the age of 13 years old and moved to Lake Charles. Mrs. Swaim worked in the cafeteria for the Calcasieu Parish School Board for 21 years. Following retirement she worked at Delicious Donuts for 12 years. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. No one left her home hungry; she enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of over 11 years, Glen E. Swaim of Lake Charles; one son, Bob Thibodeaux and wife Pauline of Iowa, LA; three step daughters and their spouses, Brenda Neidel and Jim of Buckner, MO, Cheryl Wallen and Jeff of Odessa, MO, and Donna Robinson and Marty also of Odessa, MO; a brother, Sylvester LeBlanc of Sulphur; a sister, Ruby Trahan of Sulphur; eight grandchildren; six step grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Oda Thibodeaux; two daughters, Deanna Ellender and Wanda Fay Sallier; and two sons, Terry and Johnny Thibodeaux. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 6, 2014 in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. The Rev. Matthew Cormier will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday from 8:00 AM until leaving for the church at 9:30 AM. Donations may be made in Mrs. Swaim's memory to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
