Beverly Ann Stevens

December 1, 1948 — January 15, 2023

Beverly Ann Stevens was born December 2, 1948 in Jennings, LA. She was one of three children born to Adolph and Edith Grimes and was a graduate of Jennings High School.

Following high school she attended Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri. Although she struggled with health issues most of her life, it did not deter her from her faith and the belief that one day her pain would end and she would be reunited and again be whole. She honestly cared for and loved the people who crossed her path and shared their time with her. She gave all she could to her son and grandchildren and constantly worked within herself to make peace with her own pain and loss. Her husband and parents were her world and she struggled immensely with their passing.

Her family came first and when her son was older she opened her own business “ Stevens House Interiors”. Decorating brought her much joy, one she was happy to share with others and had a successful career in doing so.

Throughout her marriage, she and Glynn traveled the world. Glynn was employed in the oil field and together they lived overseas for several years. They also enjoyed traveling extensively to many countries in Europe. Her hobbies included painting, celebrating the holidays with those she loved most, and reading. As a grandmother to Canaan, Noah, Hannah, and Nathan, they affectionately called her Mim.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Glynn Thomas Stevens and her parents; two brother in-law, Charles Stevens, Carl Stevens; sister in-law, Barbara Murray,

She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, endurance for those of us who knew her best. She inspired the belief of “tomorrow is a new day” in many of us. She takes with her our love and a huge piece of our hearts and lives. She will be missed greatly especially by her son, Greg G. Stevens; brother Roland Grimes of Lafayette, LA; sister Jeanette Williams of Jennings, LA, four grand-children, Canaan, Noah, Hannah and Nathan Stevens; sister in-laws, Carolyn Conley, Sheila Francis, and Susan Galosi; brother in-laws, Larry Stevens, and Keith Stevens.

Family to welcome friends Friday, January 20, 2023 in chapel of Johnson Funeral Home beginning at 10am until time of service. Funeral services led by Brother Phil Doucet will begin at 1pm with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
