Beverly Ann Wise

Bev Wise, 92, died peacefully in her sleep the morning of Friday, December 13, 2019.

A native of Bartlesville, Ok, Bev graduated from San Marcos Academy in San Antonio, TX in 1945 and moved to Lake Charles to attend John McNeese Junior College. She remained in Lake Charles the rest of her life. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was happiest playing the piano, painting on a canvas or preparing a meal. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Charles for 74 years and loved attending water aerobics at the OLQH Life Center until no longer able. Her boys would like to thank Jamie Daniels, LeeAnna Stevens, Linda Duplichin, Julie NcNeill, Amedisys Hospice, and the staffs of both The Gardens and The Verandah Assisted Living Facilities for giving such kind and compassionate care to their mother. She was grateful for all of you.

Bev was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha Kinnear Matter, father and stepmother, Glenn and Keitha Matter, and her husband William Jennings Wise, Jr.

She is survived by her sons, Stephen Jennings Wise and Gregory Glenn Wise and grandson, Tanner Jennings Wise.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
