Beverly Carol Mixon

March 2, 1957 — March 6, 2022

Beverly Carol Mixon, 65, of Moss Bluff, LA, passed away peacefully at 4:45 PM on Sunday, March 6, 2022 in a local care facility.

Ms. Mixon was born March 2, 1957 in Lake Charles, LA and was a lifelong resident of Moss Bluff.  She was a 1975 graduate of Sam Houston High School and a 1989 graduate of McNeese State University.  She worked twenty-five years as a teacher at Moss Bluff Elementary School, retiring in 2015.  During her free time, Ms. Mixon enjoyed reading, sewing, and arts and crafts, but her true passion in life was spending time with her grandchildren.  She will always be remembered for her positive and joking demeaner and always having a smile on her face.  She loved taking vacations, gathering for the holidays and searching for treasures at flea markets and her favorite store, Michael’s.

Ms. Mixon is survived by her son, Brandon Adam Moore and wife Tricia of Sulphur, LA; daughter, Angela Rachelle Bertrand of Moss Bluff; brother, Timothy Mixon and wife Stephanie of Gillis; grandchildren, Hayleigh Moore and fiancé Blake Chargois, Logan Moore, Jace Ledoux, Alexa Ledoux and boyfriend Nick East, and Michael Ledoux; great-grandchild, Mya Ledoux; and numerous nieces, nephews, and God-children who were very special to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett Mixon, Jr. and Nina Theriot Mixon; and sister, Donna Mixon.

Her memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.  Rev. Ed Rose will officiate.  A gathering of family members and friends will be at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 PM until the start of the service.
