Beverly Genevieve Sadler Goodloe, 84, of Lake Charles, LA died Friday, December 25, 2015 in a Lafayette hospital.
Mrs. Goodloe was born on July 4, 1931 in Lone Pine, LA. She was a graduate of Lake Charles High School and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She retired after over thirty year service from the Port of Lake Charles, after having begun her career as a secretary, working her way up to Assistant Port Director. Mrs. Goodloe also worked as the City Administrator in Mayor Jim Sudduth’s administration. She always enjoyed working alongside her husband in the yard, flower gardening and vegetable gardening and traveling as a family. Mrs. Goodloe took great pride in her family, raising her boys with a kind loving heart, to be respectful and respectable young men. Her greatest love was her husband and family, especially her grandchildren, following them to their many functions and having them over as often as possible. Mrs. Goodloe will be most remembered as a kind and loving soul, and an admirable woman of her generation, a woman of Faith, and for her genuine love and interest in getting to know those people she encountered throughout life's journey.
She is survived by two sons, Edwin Dana Goodloe and wife Christina of Dallas, TX and Randy Michael Goodloe and wife Rebecca of Lake Charles; former daughter-in-law, Carolyn Viator and husband Steve of Lake Charles, LA; five grandchildren, James Fontana, Dana Lynn Goodloe, and Daniel Goodloe, all of Dallas, TX, Michael Jean Paul Goodloe and wife Ashley of Lake Charles and Christopher Shane Goodloe and wife Sonya of Lake Charles; four great grandchildren, Grant Goodloe, Brayden Goodloe, Connor Goodloe and Evan Goodloe; one brother, Frank Sadler and wife Janice of Baton Rouge; one sister, Ann Reeves and husband Charles of Lake Charles and nieces and nephews, Steve Ensminger and wife Darci, Debbie Venable, Donna Gray and husband Randy, Holly Wilson and husband Jim, Charles W. Reeves and wife Suzanne and Christopher Sadler and wife Sandy.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Edwin Henry Goodloe, her parents, Roland and Minnie Elliott Sadler and one sister, Faye Ensminger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Visitation Monday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will resume Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM at Johnson Funeral Home. Interment services will follow at Consolata Cemetery. Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate.
