Beverly Broussard Adams was born March 17, 1927 in Forked Island, south of Kaplan, to Semar Broussard and Laticia Stelly. She passed on in her home surrounded by her loved ones at 2:50 PM on Tuesday, June 11, 2013.
She loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed cooking for them. She was a terrific Cajun cook and was great at sewing. She loved to play Mexican Dominos with her family.
Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband, Harvey Adams, with whom she was married sixty-two years; three children, Bridget Adams Smith and husband Clifton of Moss Bluff, Kevin Adams, of Iowa, and Marissa Adams Whitbeck and husband Joe of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren, Jacob Hanks, Christina Hanks Lanier, Joshua Smith, Angelia Adams Ames, Cassie Adams, Ryan Trahan, Corey Adams, Zachary Whitbeck and Annie Whitbeck; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was a soft spoken, sweet, loving mother and grandmother with a compassionate and forgiving heart. She is loved by all. Even though we know she is still with us, we will miss seeing her.
Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 14, 2013 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday at the funeral home from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
