Bill Otis Broussard, 67, of Lake Charles died on Tuesday, June 03, 2014, in a local hospital. Mr. Broussard was born on December 3, 1946, in Lake Charles, LA, and lived here all of his life before moving to Moss Bluff ten years ago. He was a 1964 graduate of Marion High School. Mr. Broussard was a retired operator for LA Pigment. He was of the Catholic faith and made his Cursillo. Bill will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love for life and his family. He enjoyed sports and was a dedicated fan of McNeese Cowboys, LSU, and the New Orleans Saints. He also had a passion for and excelled in fishing and bowling. In his earlier years, he belonged to a bowling league. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 22 years, Gayle Broussard of Lake Charles; a daughter, Tonya Marie Broussard Kopecky and husband Tim of Sulphur; a son, Ernest Michael Broussard and wife Jennifer of Winnsboro, LA; a step son, Robbie Schexnider and wife Cathy of Lake Charles; three sisters, Regina MacDowell of Lake Charles, Shirley Broussard of Welsh, and Jackie Carrier of LeBleu Settlement; three grandchildren, Amber, TJ, and Caleb; seven nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmae and Otis Broussard. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 5, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Scott Desormeaux will officiate. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a cursillo rosary being held at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
