Billie S. Houston

Billie S. Houston, 80, passed away Friday, December 10, 2010, at a local hospital.

Born October 15, 1930, in Goosport, she lived all of her life in Lake Charles. Ms. Houston was a graduate of Marion High School and Delta Tech School of Nursing where she obtained a Licensed Practical Nurse degree. She worked at St. Patrick's Hospital for over 34 years in the emergency department. Preceding her in death was her husband, Bruce D. Houston, Sr. Ms. Houston will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Andrus and husband Ken of Moss Bluff; a son, Bruce D. Houston, Jr. and wife Lakyn of DeQuincy; six grandchildren, Logan Spears, Brittany LeBleu and husband, Van, Jason Andrus and wife, Tiffany, Kameron Pickens, Eli Houston, and Tara Fenner and husband, Chad; five great-grandchildren, Weston and Jackson LeBleu, Callie Andrus, and Grant and Jordan Fenner.

Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Jerrod Grissom will officiate. A private burial will follow at a later time. Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning on Tuesday, December 16, from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
