Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was called home to be with Jesus on March 28, 2018.
Billy was 65. He was born in Pasadena, TX on November 2, 1952, to Walter Holman and Barbara Hancock Holman, but lived his entire life in the Lake Charles and Gillis area.
Billy was an old school, proud, hardworking family man. He was full of salt and vinegar, but could make anyone smile. His life’s ambition was to keep everyone in the room laughing. He could fish and drive his tractor from daylight to dark.
He was a heavy equipment operator by trade and had worked for various construction companies in Lake Charles. None of these jobs gave him as much joy as starting his business, Bison Builders, with his oldest son, Brian.
Billy was an outspoken man of God and faithful member of Resurrection Life Church and Children’s Church leader for three decades.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 46 years, Mona; five children, Melanie Evers (Matthew), Stephanie Deville (Sam), Christie McComb (Eli), Brian Holman (Jessica), Brent Holman (Tabitha); ten grandchildren, Courtney (Christian), Blane, Julianne, Logan, Landon, Brady, Tucker, Leighann, Abel, Sebastian; 1 great grandchild, Lucas; and 1 brother, Walter Holman Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home on Lake Street with Pastor Steve Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Ritchie Cemetery on South Perkins Ferry Rd. in Moss Bluff. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. until start of service.
