Billy Ray Lee

Billy Ray Lee, 74, of Lake Charles passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012 in a local hospital.


Mr. Lee was a longtime resident of Lake Charles. He was a graduate of McNeese State University and worked most of his life and retired as a Customs Inspector. Mr. Lee enjoyed raising his dogs and was a licensed gun collector. He was known to be extremely generous to his friends.


He is survived by his children, Allison Gibbons and husband Barry, Jennifer Driggers and her husband Jace, Kenneth Lee, and Karen Monceaux; his grandchildren, Jared Shattuck, Austin and Amanda Monceaux, Samantha, Abigail, and Amy Lee; in addition two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Cade Shattuck. He is also survived by his twin sister, Bobbie Lea Boudreaux.


He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Mae Maddox; his father, Buren Alsys Lea; his brothers Pete and Leon; and his sister, Patricia.


His memorial service will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Bart Leger will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
