Birdie Mary Mallett

Birdie (MawMaw Bunny) Mary Mallett, 75, of Lake Charles died on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 in her residence with her loving family at her side. Mrs. Mallett was born on March 31. 1939 in Crowley, Louisiana and has lived in Lake Charles most of her life. She loved to read her Bible, cook, and spending time with her family. She also loved to spend time with anyone who came over to the house to visit and share a cup of coffee. Mrs. Mallett is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jimmie Mallett and her daughter, Angela Dyer and husband Ronnie of Lake Charles, LA; three sons, Marlon R. Mallett and wife Sylvia, Anthony Paul Mallett and wife Tressa, Jimmie P. Mallett (Junior) all of Lake Charles, LA. One sister, Joyce Harrington, Lake Charles, LA. Three brothers, Duford Harrington, Ronald Harrington and wife Wanda, Donald Harrington and wife Candy all of Lake Charles, LA, sister-in-law, Brenda Mallett Augustine of Lake Charles, ten grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, numerous great nieces and nephews, also her favorite pets, Grace and Izzy. Mrs. Mallett is preceded in death by her parents Edith and Arnold Harrington. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 6:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Wendy Noble will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday until the time of services. Cremation is entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
