Bishop Johnny Carroll Hair, 71, of Moss Bluff, received his heavenly reward Friday, Nov. 22, 2013. Born Jan. 27, 1942, in Laurel, Miss., and raised on his beloved farm, he moved to Homestead, Fla., at age 18 where he attended his first Pentecostal church service. Brother Hair received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. He soon dedicated his life to preaching the gospel message that had changed his life. Brother Hair has preached across the nation and in foreign countries, but his greatest achievement is found in the hearts and lives of the people he loved so dearly for four decades, the saints of First Apostolic Church of Moss Bluff. In 1967, he met the love of his life while attending a camp meeting in Little Rock, Ark. Bishop Hair and his wife, Lyndal, have been inseparable a beautiful example of deep love and intimate friendship. Only death could separate the loving couple who was two days from celebrating a 46th wedding anniversary. The family and friends would like to honor Mrs. Hair for her incredible and loving care of her husband during his lengthy illness. Bishop Hair was an avid outdoorsman, yet he rarely hunted alone. He always wanted to share his enjoyments with his family and friends. His home was joyful and always full of company. We will remember Brother Hair as a man who loved life, but most of all a man who loved God. His touch will long be felt in our hearts and lives. He made an indelible impact not only on the members of his congregation but also in the lives of many across the nation. His arrival to the Lake area began July 3, 1974, and he spent the remainder of his life loving and serving the people of his community He is survived by his loving wife, Lyndal Beall Hair; daughter, Robin and husband the Rev.
