Blaine Andrew Doucet

Blaine Andrew Doucet, 59, of Lake Charles passed away at 11:10 PM on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 in his residence.

 

Mr. Doucet was born on April 11, 1959 in Sulphur where he was a 1977 graduate of Sulphur High School. He continued his education at McNeese State University before earning a degree in law from LSU while becoming a life long avid LSU fan. Following his education, he moved to Lake Charles and began working for Allstate as the in house counsel. He opened his own law practice 17 years ago and during that time assisted many grateful families with adoption of children. Mr. Doucet was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven and Christ the King Catholic Church and was instrumental in incorporating the ACTS Mission into the state of Louisiana and local areas.

 

He enjoyed the outdoors which includes hunting and fishing.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Danna Doucet of Lake Charles; four children, Morgan Magee (Cody) of New Orleans, and Gavin, Maya, and Gracie Doucet all of Lake Charles; two step children, Jordan and Regan Hastings both of Lake Charles; a grandson, Ezra Blaine Doucet-Morello; a step grandson, Noah Williams; his mother, Helen Stewart Doucet of Sulphur; and three siblings, Victoria Doucet of Sulphur, Monica Doucet Jordan of Mobile, AL, and Betty Doucet of Sulphur.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Horace Joseph Doucet, Jr.

 

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Rev. Keith Pellerin and the Very Rev. Anthony M. Fontenot will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a scripture service and rosary being held at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 8:30 AM until leaving for the church at 9:30 AM.
