Bobbie Jean Blankenship Borrell passed away Thursday, May 1st at her Temple residence after a long illness. Bobbie Borrell was born to CW and Rosella Blankenship in DeRidder, LA on December 27, 1928. Bobbie married Eugene A. Borrell on October 18, 1946 in Lake Charles, LA where they resided for several years. When Gene became employed with the Veterans Administration, Gene, Bobbie, and their three little girls began to move throughout the country. Soon, a little brother joined the family. Wherever life took them, Bobbie would turn their house into a home. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. In every town, she wasted no time immersing herself into the community. Bobbie was very involved in the VA Women's Club of Temple. She loved to garden, and was partial to her pink roses. Family was everything to her. After retiring, Bobbie and Gene returned to their hometown of Lake Charles where Bobbie resided until after Gene's death in 1999. She then returned to Temple, TX to be closer to her children. Bobbie Borrell was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Borrell, her parents, CW and Rosella Blankenship, and her brother, Rayburn Blankenship. She is survived by her sister, Billie Brame, her children, Pam Jaeger and her husband Biff, Penny McCormack and her husband Chris, Kathy McRae and her husband Chuck, and Charles Borrell and his wife Jane. Survivors also include grandchildren Stephanie Lee, Amber Burke, Adam Scharn, Katy Bryson, Charlie McRae, Christopher McRae, Alex Borrell, Avery Borrell, Zachary McCormack, and Jonathan McCormack. She leaves behind six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 24th, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chris Fuselier will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Saturday will be from 1:00 PM until the time of service in the funeral home.
