Bobby Milton Kennedy, Sr., 75, of Lake Charles, LA died on Sunday, March 25, 2012.
Mr. Kennedy was born August 15, 1936 and has been a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, LA. He worked for the Lake Charles Fire Department for thirty-two years, where he was loved and respected. As a result of his loyalty to his community, he was promoted to the Chief Training Officer, where he retired after ten years of dedicated service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and his horses.
Mr. Kennedy is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Velma Kennedy; children, Debbie Kennedy Williams and husband Don, Patrick Kennedy, and Bobby Kennedy, Jr. and wife Connie; brothers, Jimmy Kennedy, Harvey Kennedy, Mack Kennedy, and Fred Kennedy; and three grandchildren, Ashley Jo Williams, Bonnie Jo Williams, and Carlee Kennedy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert "Bob" and Ida Kennedy; and sister, Jackie Goings.
His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
