Bobby Ray Landry, 65, passed away on August 11, 2014. Preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine Fontenot Landry, mother, Bessie Trahan-Landry, father, Dudley Landry and son, Ronald Landry. He was born in Jennings, Louisiana on April 29, 1948. He attended Lake Arthur high school and then served in the United States Army. He spent his life career working in oil field production and was a dedicated and respected professional in his field. Bobby was a Christian man with a solid faith and was a member of Glad Tidings church. He spent many years sharing his faith through music singing gospel for friends, family and church. Bobby is survived by his wife of 23 years, Linda Fontenot Landry; his daughter, Sheila Landry-Hedley; his stepsons, Todd Jason ("TJ") Simmons and Kevin James Gaudet; and his stepdaughter Rhonda Marie Goins; four grandchildren, Jacob Hayes, Caleb Goins and Lauryn and Jack Simmons; siblings Roger Landry; Dean Landry and his family, Jerry Nunez and his family, EJ Nunez and his family and Charlotte Semar and her family. A celebration of Bobby's life will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Johnsons Funeral Home in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The Rev. Gary Evers and Rev. Mickie Istre will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will begin on Friday at 1:00 PM and will continue following the service until 4:00 PM. Bobby knew no stranger and was well liked and loved by everyone he knew in all aspects of his life. He had great capacity for kindness and compassion and was a great provider to his family and a warm heart to his friends. He loved all of his family and supported them in everything. He touched many lives and will always be loved and missed.
