Bonnie Mae Tremonte

September 29, 1933 — June 13, 2014

A native of Lake Arthur and a long-term resident of Lake Charles, Bonnie passed away on Friday, June 13 at the age of 80. Bonnie worked for Christus St. Patrick Hospital in Communications, retiring after 42 years of service. She was fluent in Cajun French and a world class cook, famous for her divinity and date pinwheel cookies and was an avid collector of bears, ducks, rabbits, chickens, and Wedgewood china. She was a devout Catholic with a special devotion to praying the rosary and was a long term parishioner of St. Margaret Catholic Church in Lake Charles and Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh. Left to treasure her memory are her children; Ross Nicholas Tremonte, II. (Jean Ann) of Conroe, TX and Charles Robert Tremonte (Denise) of Koontz, TX; grandchildren, Ross Nicholas Tremonte, III., Sarah Harrington, and Nicole Bain; great-grandchildren Russell, Audrey, and Weston; and sisters Tootsie Benoit (Clifford) and Melissa Richard; and sister in law Rosalie Papinia. Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband Ross Christopher Tremonte, Sr.; parents, Eddie and Lorenza Soileau, and many siblings. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home (4321 Lake Street) on Monday, June 16 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, June 17th at St. Margaret Catholic Church (2500 Enterprise Blvd) at 9:00 am until Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
