Brenda Gail Southerland Blankenship

Brenda Gail Southerland Blankenship, 79, of Moss Bluff passed away at 4:14 PM on Monday, January 27, 2025 in a local hospice facility after a brief battle with cancer.

A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, Mrs. Blankenship was deeply cherished by her family and friends. Above all, she was a dedicated and lifelong caregiver to her daughter, Stacey, offering unconditional love and support throughout her life.

In addition to her devotion to her family, Mrs. Blankenship found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in her passion for cooking. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Lisa Dayle Nesselrodt (William), Stacey Gayle Blankenship, and Wendy Laura Clayton; brother, Gene Sutherland, Jr. (Connie); grandchildren, Brandon Allen Graham (Tanya), Hannah Gayle Minton (Mark), Alyssa Shea Graves (John), Ryan Allen Graham, Marlie Paige Clayton, Devaney Clayton (Makenzie), and Morgan Clayton; and numerous great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Larry” Blankenship, Jr.; parents, Mildred and Howard Southerland, Sr.; grandsons, Nickolas Joseph Nocilla and Jarrett William Graham; and siblings, Mack Sutherland and Gwen Partain.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
