Brent Zachary Allain was greeted as he walked through Heaven’s Gates by his beloved grandmother, Clara Zachary, on September 28, 2017. Surrounded by loved ones, Mr. Allain, 40, passed away at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital following his struggle with a debilitating illness.
He was a 1995 graduate of Sulphur High School. He served with the Louisiana National Guard. In his early twenties, Brent was employed as a deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and later as a law enforcement officer with the Sulphur Police Department.
He earned an Associates Degree in Mortuary Science from the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston. He worked for a few years at Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur. Brent was a Jack-of-all trades, but most recently he was employed as a commercial electrician with Saia and Doyle Electric in Baton Rouge.
With his charming personality, quick wit, and joking nature, Brent made friends wherever he went. He had many interests such as music and woodworking, but his greatest joy was being a father to his two sons, Reed and Matthew.
