Brian Joseph Newman

Brian Joseph Newman, 30, of Lake Charles, died Tuesday January 5, 2016 at his residence.

Brian was a native and life-long resident of Lake Charles. He was a 2003 graduate of LaGrange High School, where he played baseball and football. He loved to fish, going to LSU football games and Rockets Basketball games in Houston. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Brian was preceded in death by his grandfather, Archie Solari. He is survived by his parents, Pat and Elaine Solari Newman; two sons, Braydan and Jordan Bellard; brother, Trent Newman; maternal grandmother, Louise Fontenot Solari; paternal grandparents, Albert “Snooky” and Wilda Johnson Newman; mother of his children, Brittany Bellard; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will begin today, Friday January 8, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday at 9:00 AM and continue until 11:30 AM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be observed at 12:00 Noon Saturday January 9, 2016 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church with Father Matthew Cormier serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at Sallier Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Torres, Mitch Thibodeaux, Charles Theriot, Jason Thrasher, Josh Newman and Josh Chaisson.
