Brooks “Bubba” Arrant was one of three children born to James Brooks and Billie Jean Arrant. He was born on May 14, 1961, in DeQuincy, LA.
He was born and raised in Southwest Louisiana, he graduated from Lake Charles High, Class of 1979.Shortly after high school, Bubba began his lifelong career as a truck driver. This career allowed him to meet many different long-lasting friends. Bubba had a unique ability to obtain special relationships with everyone he knew-no matter how you met him or how long or little you knew him. His smile and laugh could lite up any room he walked into.
Bubba was always telling others how proud he was of his children. He treasured every moment with his children, from fishing and talking on the phone with Zack to discussing and attending LSU games with Taylor to getting a pedicure and going out to eat with Grace to bringing and watching many baseball tournaments for Jackson. Bubba could also be found watching LSU or NASCAR with his family and friends.
He was welcomed into Heaven on August 20, 2021,by his parents, James Brooks and Billie Jean Arrant.
Those left to cherish the truckload of memories; his beloved children, Zachery W. Arrant and fiancéHannah LeJeune, Taylor Arrant, Grace Arrant, and Jackson Arrant; a sister, Keitha Arrant; a brother, Brian (Brandie) Arrant; the mother to his children, Dorinda Gilley; his nieces and nephews, Jason (Ashley) Felice, Randie Arrant, Braeden Arrant, Emma Arrant; and a host of extended family and friends.
The family will welcome friends at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Thursday, August 26, 2021,beginning at 4pm until 9pm. Visitation will resume Friday, August 27, 2021, beginning at 9am until time of service. A funeral service will begin at 11am. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, with a private inurnment at New Ritchie Cemetery at a later date.
