Bruce H. Stagg

Bruce H. Stagg, 72, of Lake Charles died at 1:00 AM on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 in his residence.


Mr. Stagg was born in Eunice, LA on June 30, 1939. He lived in Alexandria most of his life until moving to Lake Charles over a year ago. Mr. Stagg had his own private practice CPA firm for 40 years. He was a dedicated member of Baptist Temple in Alexandria where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and was the treasurer for over 40 years. Mr. Stagg was also a member of the Open Gate Cowboy Church in Lake Charles. He belonged to Gideon's International and was former District Governor of Civitan.


Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Patsy Stagg of Lake Charles; a son, Dr. Mark Stagg and wife Lisa of Lake Charles; three siblings, Frances Burke of Dallas, John Perry Stagg of Woodville, TX, and Philip A. Stagg of Zachary, LA; a half brother, Lee J. Stagg of Pineville; and two grandchildren, Joshua and Sarah Stagg of Lake Charles.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Philip Stagg.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 25, 2012 at Baptist Temple in Alexandria, LA under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. His son, Dr. Mark Stagg will officiate. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday in the church from 10:00 AM until the start of the service. A graveside service will be held following the service at 2:00 PM at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Ville Platte, LA.
