Bryan B. Baker, 81, of Lake Charles passed away, Saturday, November 19, 2011 in a local healthcare facility following a lengthy battle of Alzheimer's.
Mr. Baker was born in Georgia and has lived the past fifty years in Lake Charles. He retired after eighteen years as an operator from Conoco Vista. Following his retirement he worked in Real Estate and the management of Rental Property. Mr. Baker enjoyed making stone jewelry and was an award winning writer for The Lapidary Journal. He also enjoyed fishing, raising Day lilies and his little dog, Marci.
Mr. Baker was a member of the Apostolic Temple.
He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife, Dorothy Fay Hooper Baker of Moss Bluff; five children, Wayne Baker and wife Cecilia of Ocean Springs, MS, Ricky Baker and Janet Mixon, of Pensacola, FL, Brenda Powell and husband David of Lafayette and Richard Mouhot and wife Janice of Moss Bluff; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great- grandchildren and one brother, Floyd Baker and wife Geraldine of Los Angeles, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Barry and Inez Baker and one brother, Warren Baker.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ricky Treece will officiate. Visitation Monday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
