Bryan David Jennings, 53, of Lake Charles, LA died at 11:43 AM on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in a local hospital.


Mr. Jennings was born December 20, 1959 in Shattuck, OK, lived all of his life in Lake Charles, LA, and was a 1978 graduate of Barbe High School, where he was active with the football team. He worked as a diesel mechanic at White's Construction, Larco Environmental, Hertz Rental in Sulphur, the Lake Charles Stevedores, and most recently for the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, where he has worked for the past seven years. Mr. Jennings was a member of Tom Hebert Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping with his family and friends and working in his shop, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.


Mr. Jennings is survived by his loving wife of thirty-three years, Kathy Huggins Jennings; sons, Brett Jennings and wife Toni of Lake Charles, Justin Jennings and wife Heather and Jeremy Jennings and wife Julie, all of Iowa, LA; sisters, Karla Cheramie of Shreveport, Lauren Landry and husband Tim of Ragley, LA, Rhonda Ford and husband Donnie and Myra Arabie, both of Lake Charles; brother, Norman Jennings of Lake Charles; half-sister, Jessica Duke of Wichita Falls, TX; and grandchildren, Landen, Caylie, Cheyanne, and Owen Jennings, and one on-the-way.


His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Chris Fuselier will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM and continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until the start of the funeral.
