Burchman Shuff

Burchman Shuff, 77, of Lake Charles, LA, died on Sunday, November 15, 2020 in a local care facility.

Mr. Shuff was born February 9, 1943 and raised in Soileau, LA.  He was a graduate of Oberlin High School and served his country in the U.S. Army, where he was a paratrooper.  Mr. Shuff worked as a mechanic at Radford Buick, and later as a machinist for Olin and retired from Alcoa.  He loved tinkering and working around the house on his projects.  He also enjoyed barbecuing and cooking outside for the family.

Mr. Shuff is survived by his daughter, Alicia Shuff; sons, Kirk Shuff and Todd Shuff and wife Edye, all of Lake Charles; son-in-law, Ricky Stutes; grandchildren, Olivia Stutes, Riley Stutes, and Arielle Shuff; great-grandchildren, Austin and Violet; brothers, Joe Allen Shuff and Mack Shuff Jr. and wife Louise; and his life-long friends, Sam Duplechain and Larry Guidry.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Patricia “Pat” Carrier Shuff; parents, Doris and Mack Shuff, Sr.; sister, Marie Riggs; and brother, Matthew Shuff.

His private burial at Consolata Cemetery was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
