C.M. Long, 91 of Lake Charles passed on Saturday Dec. 30, 2017. His transition was rather quick and unexpected and promptly joined his Beloved Betty in Spirit.
He was a ski instructor in Colorado for the U.S. Army. Started out as a welder’s helper and worked his way up to instructor for Cities Service Refinery. Alongside his late wife Betty, they established in 1950 a successful commercial construction company,
C.M.Long Inc. which is still in service today. He was an avid gardener and sportsman his whole life and loved sharing it with friends and family. A sharp-witted, loving person with such a gentle soul. Always generous with his time, warm hugs, advice or even just sharing a joke and a smile. C.M. stayed active with the news, read the local paper daily, was a generous, kind-hearted gentleman who was well-respected in the community, and supported many causes and groups dear to his heart. C.M. was a man of strong faith, being an active member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven and St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church.
