Capitola “Cap” VanWinkle, 85, of Lake Charles, LA passed from this life on Monday, March 28, 2016.
Cap was born on October 15, 1930 in DeQuincy, LA. She lived most of her life in DeQuincy and moved to Lake Charles, LA in 2007. Cap enjoyed old movies, quilting, and supporting her LSU tigers. She was a nurse for over 30 years in the Southwest Louisiana area.
Those left to cherish he memory are her son, Rodger “Pete” VanWinkle and wife Kathy of Moss Bluff, LA; two daughters, Beverly Lowery and husband Raymond of Lake Charles, LA, and Melonee Cooper and husband Tim of DeQuincy, LA; seven grandchildren, Hope Snider and husband Jerry of Lake Charles, LA, Charity Miller and husband Paul of Lake Charles, LA, Jacob Lowery and wife Lori of Tennessee, Page Hyatt and husband Chris of Moss Bluff, LA, Courtney Winters and husband Matt of Moss Bluff, LA, Kate Stutes and husband Brandon of Moss Bluff, LA, and Luke Cooper of Lake Charles, LA.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bevil Jesse VanWinkle.
Funeral services will be at 6:00 PM Thursday, March 31, 2016 at The Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Thursday, March 31, 2016 at The Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy. A graveside committal will be at 9:30 AM Friday, April 1, 2016 at Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy, LA. Pastor Jerry Snider will officiate services.
