Carl Ardoin

Carl Bennett “Sleepy” Ardoin, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 12, 1943, to Rose Mae Duplechin and Dominque Ardoin.

Carl was a graduate of LaGrange High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy for six years. Following his military service, Carl pursued a lifelong career as a painting contractor, a trade he learned from his father and continued with dedication. On Friday nights after a hard day of work Carl enjoyed winding down with a cold Miller Lite. Carl found great joy in working outdoors, particularly in gardening and yard work. He was known for his kind heart, unwavering devotion to his family, and strong work ethic.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Bonnie Ann Boudreaux Ardoin; his children, Nicole Ardoin (Lane), Kelly Fiaschetti (Jeff), Chad Ardoin (Jessica), Carmen Sweeney (Rick), and Denise McFarland; grandchildren, Joseph, Kara, Makayla, Bryce, Reece, Ashleigh, Lindsey, Chandler, and Lauren; and great grandchildren, Karleigh and Rae. He is also survived by his siblings, Roland Ardoin (Dot) and Jan Guillory (Dennis), along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Carl was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Stacy Ardoin; his parents, Rose Mae Duplechin and Dominque Ardoin; and his siblings, Joe Ardoin and Terry Davis.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Carl’s life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with a rosary recited at 12:00 PM. Following the service, interment will be held at Consolata Cemetery with Military Honors.
