Carl Hubert, 76, passed away peacefully in his home on April 24, 2018 after a short illness.
He was born on September 28, 1941 to Willy and Tilly Hubert in Port Arthur, TX.
He loved his family and loved his church, The Sanctuary, where he played the bass guitar and was said to be in attendance every time the doors were open. He will be remembered as a generous and compassionate man who saw good in everyone he met. His accomplishments include starting “The Voice” magazine in Lake Charles, being a radio personality on several stations, and his career in graphic design. Mr. Hubert also served his country honorably in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Hubert is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Alice Hubert; children include Tammy Caffey, Tanya Sorth, and Kimberly Holt; sisters, Linda Hubert Waldrop and husband Curtis and Martha (Marty) Hubert Cassens; and numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tilly and Willy Hubert; sister, Patsy Hubert Conwell; and infant brother, Edward Hubert.
His funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 2:30 PM. Pastor Garry Mann will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5 PM until 8 PM and on Saturday from 1 PM until the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Sanctuary Church in Moss Bluff, LA for their new church sign.
