Carl Wesley Lewis

Carl Wesley Lewis, of Gonzales, LA, formerly of Lake Charles, died on Saturday, March 12, 2016, in Lake Charles surrounded by his family.

Carl was born in Lake Charles and was a retired industrial fiberglass fabricator. He honorably served our country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, gardening and watching hummingbirds.

Carl was preceded in death by his father, Rex Lewis and a son, Michael R. Lewis. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Barbara McGhee Lewis; children, Daniel Lewis, Moss Bluff, Sheryl Mohler and husband Bill, Gonzales, Tara Grindol and husband Paul, Sulphur, and Michael W. Lewis, Gonzales; mother, Paula Brunson Lewis, Lake Charles; brother, Homer “Bud” Lewis and wife Avis, Tomball, Texas and sister, Christine Wright and husband Billy, Lake Charles; 14 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 14, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Theron Watson officiating. Burial, with Navy Honors, will be at Prien Memorial Gardens.
