Carlton Boudreaux, Jr., 61, of Carlyss, La., passed suddenly from this world into his Heavenly Father’s arms on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, in Carthage, Mississippi, after surviving several health issues.
He was a devoted family man who loved his girls and whose greatest joy was spending time with his grandson and just being together. He had a passion for cooking and shared his love with everyone through his food and humor. If he was picking on you, he liked you. He never met a stranger and wouldn’t hesitate to help anyone, no matter what their need. His generosity and huge heart left his imprint on everyone that knew him. He welcomed everyone into his home and treated them as family. When he wasn’t out with others or working, he was enjoying his time at home with his wife, dogs, and cat, or out in the yard manicuring it and making it beautiful. He loved fishing and believed you would catch anything with dead shrimp. He enjoyed camping and meeting new friends. People would say he was a “gentle giant” a big man with a big voice but in a gentle and caring way. He had a passion for sharing his wisdom to help others grow and succeed, he was a magnificent mentor to all who heeded his advice.
He began working at the young age of 13 and was a hard worker and provider, until his body made him slow down. He began his 40-year career offshore at the age of 18. He started out as a roustabout and worked his way up to superintendent. He began working with Marlin, then H & P Drilling and ultimately ended up working with Shell. Throughout his years offshore, he gained many friends and extended family at his home away from home. He was admired and respected for his knowledge and dedication to the job and the safety of everyone he worked with on the rigs. He was a member of St. Theresa Parish and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Jennifer Akers Boudreaux, who was the love of his life at first sight. His daughters, Christen Boudreaux Barrow (Raymond) of Sulphur, Michelle Boudreaux Duhon (Justin) of Orange, Texas; grandson James Barrow of Sulphur, Siblings; Carolyn Boudreaux of Sunset, La., Robert Boudreaux (Yudeles) of New Iberia, David Boudreaux (Ann) of Sulphur, and Corbia Boudreaux of Carencro, La., and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
