Carol Lynn Fellows, 72, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024. She selflessly spent her last months battling in private unwilling to burden anyone.
Carol was born May 21st, 1952, in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Dr. Charles Fellows and Betty Kinney. She attended Sulphur High School and graduated in 1970. She then went on to college and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from LSU in 1974, and later her Master’s Degree in Gerontology. Carol always had a passion for the elderly population which led her to a career working for her father’s Nursing Homes for the past 25 years.
Carol always prioritized the well-being of others before herself. She was selfless, independent, and driven. She was the woman you wanted to seek for life advice. She would speak the truth, and sometimes the hard truths, but she was always caring and sensitive to the needs of others.
Carol was her own person and danced to the beat of her own drum, she didn’t seek approval of others, but approval was always given with her pure nature where her ethical and nurturing characteristics always rang true.
She was confident and methodical with every decision she made in her life, including the big picture of it all. Her laugh was contagious, she never met a stranger, and she genuinely cared about the people in her very big circle.
Carol is survived by her three children, Kimberly Snatic Baechle (Timothy) of Austin, TX; Kelly Marcantel (Brandon) of Sulphur, LA; Tyler Young of Lake Charles, LA; Granddaughter, Lillian Nester; Sisters, Alice Petagna and Diane Legg. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Charles Fellows and Betty Kinney; Sisters, Beth Fellows and Laura Fellows.
Carol will always be remembered for her red nails, a good glass of Chardonnay, and the ability to light up any room she walked into.
The family would like to thank Dr. Broussard and staff, Dr. Kelley and Nurse Practitioner Lindsay Viator, Heart of Hospice, and her caregivers Barbara, Angelica, Angel, and Angela.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will be 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
