The funeral service for Carol Foreman will be at 11:00 AM, February 7, 2011 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. The Revs Bill Miller and Alan Troullier will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home with military graveside rites. Visitation is from 3:00 PM until 8 PM on Sunday with a scripture service and rosary at 4:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
Mr. Foreman died at 11:15 PM, February 1, 2011 at Whispering Oaks Lodge, Lumberton Texas. A native of New Iberia, he lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He was a graduate of New Iberia High School and Sowela Technical Institute. Having served in Italy for eighteen months, he was a decorated World War II army veteran and a life member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW Post 2130) and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with two oak leaf clusters, six battle stars, the combat infantry badge, a WWII Sharpshooter medal with TD 37-MM and rifle bars and good conduct medal.
He worked for Gulf States Utilities for thirty-six years and was an usher at St. Margaret Catholic Church for 54 years.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years Irma West Foreman; daughters Emily Elam, Patricia Bales, Mary Randel; sister, Lela Morgan; and grandchildren, Laura Elam Ayres, Caleb Bales, Brenna Bales, Joseph Randel and Lucia Randel. Mr. Foreman was preceded in death by his son Thomas Edward Foreman, parents Clarence Foreman and Mary Luehm Foreman; four brothers; and four sisters. .
