Carol William Miller

Carol William Miller, 79, of Sulphur passed away at 6:25 PM on Sunday, September 16, 2018 in a local care facility surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Miller was born on April 30, 1939 in Woodlawn, was a graduate of Lacassine High School, and moved to Sulphur in 1979. He served in the US Marine Corps. Mr. Miller began his career in 1965 with Big 3 Air Liquide and retired as plant manager in 2002 after 37 years. He belonged to the parish of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus for more than 15 years.

He enjoyed camping, gardening, and hunting. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family. He supported his grandchildren by attending and being involved in their various extracurricular activities.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Rita Miller of Sulphur; children, Jason Miller (Lisa) of League City, TX, Kevin Miller (Tammy) of Sulphur, and Neil Miller (Mollie) of Sulphur; grandchildren, Jessica, Haley, Nicholas, Collin, Garrett, Coy, and Josie Miller; great grandson, Grayson Miller; and siblings, Helen Miller, Calvin Miller, Glenda Stewart (Jeff), and Mildred Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Wadie Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Fr. Jom Joseph, HGN, will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery North location. Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.

Pallbearers will be: Nicholas, Collin, Garrett, and Coy Miller, Oran Thibodeaux, and Mark Prudhomme. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessica, Haley, Josie, and Grayson Miller.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Brighton Bridge Hospice and to the staff of Grand Cove Nursing Home for their exceptional compassion and care given to Mr. Miller.
