Carolyn Gafford Spell

Carolyn Gafford Spell, 70, of Lake Charles passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015. She was born in Florida and has lived most of her life in Lake Charles. Mrs. Spell was an avid outdoorsman. She loved fishing and shrimping and enjoyed gardening. She also enjoyed shopping and more than anything, cooking. Her greatest joy was cooking for and spending time with family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory, six children, David Spell and wife Tina of Sulphur, James Spell of Westlake, Mark Spell and wife Tammy of Lake Charles , Pamela Courville and husband Shane of Moss Bluff, Jeff Spell and wife Cindy of Moss Bluff and Gerald Spell and wife Sherri of Topsy; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and husband, David Spell. Memorial services will be at 6:00 PM Saturday, August 15, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Gerald Rodriguez will officiate. A gathering of family and friends Saturday will be from 3:00 PM until the time of service in the funeral home.
