Carolyn Jean Cain, 72, of Westlake, passed away Sunday January 19, 2014 at a local healthcare facility. Carolyn was a native of Pennsylvania. She lived and traveled throughout the world with her husband Bob throughout his career in the Air Force before settling in Lake Charles. Carolyn began her career at Bolton Ford as a bookkeeper and was promoted over the years, retiring thirty-two years later as comptroller. Carolyn's love to help and be around people led her to volunteer at Heart of Hospice, where she found great fulfillment and made many friends. Always a gracious hostess, she enjoyed entertaining in her house with groups of her wonderful friends. Carolyn was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Carolyn was a faithful member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Bob Cain; son, Tod Cain (Nancy), Chattanooga, TN; daughter, Kelly Goodman (Aaron), Lake Charles; grandsons, Brandon Benoit and Ben Cain; granddaughters, Jenifer and Jillian Joubert; sister, Elsie Volk (Leonard), Windber, PA; brother, Stanley Studinary, Pittsburg, PA as well as a many friends that were considered extended family. A Memorial Service to celebrate Carolyn's life will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday February 1, 2014 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with Rev.James Lueckenhoff and Rev. Dr. Mitzi George officiating. Inurnment will follow services at the church columbarium. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd Altar Guild.
