Carolyn Joan Boswell Gauthier

April 2, 1943 — May 26, 2017

Carolyn Joan Gauthier, 74, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017 after a battle with cancer. She was born April 2, 1943, in Leesville, LA to Elmer “E.J.” Boswell and Paulette Holt Boswell.

 

Mrs. Gauthier was a graduate of LaGrange High School and attended McNeese State University. She was a devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and worked over the years in real estate, politics, and the safety industry. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. Mrs. Gauthier will be most remembered for her love and devotion to her church and family.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald Gauthier Sr.; son, Ronald Gauthier Jr.; and five siblings, Jonathan Boswell, Janice Boswell, Keitha Boswell, Roger Boswell, and Ronnie Boswell.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Miriam Joan Guthrie and husband Ken of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren, Michael Guthrie and wife Antoinette of Lafayette, Joseph Guthrie and wife Molly of Lake Charles, and Courtney Guthrie and fiancé Daniel Lovell of Baton Rouge; six great-grandchildren, Mark Guthrie, Thomas Guthrie, Abel Guthrie, Cameron Guthrie, Madyelene Guthrie and Elijah Lovell; and one brother, Leslie Boswell and wife Pat of Lake Charles.

 

Mrs. Gauthier wanted to personally thank Gussie Doucet, Connie Roach, Patricia Inge and a host of others for their never ending friendship, love and time they gave to her during her fight against cancer.

 

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Francis LaRocque will officiate. Interment will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
