Carolyn Sue Parker Greene, 75, of Moss Bluff entered her eternal resting place at 3:50 AM on Saturday, June 17, 2017 in her home surrounded by her family and friends.
Mrs. Greene was born on October 24, 1941 in Reeves, LA. She had resided in the Moss Bluff area for the past 64 years and was a graduate of Gillis High School. She had also briefly resided in Groves, TX, Austin, TX, and in upper Heyford England during her husband’s military travels. Mrs. Greene was a member of First Pentecostal Church.
She will be remembered as being a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed traveling and visiting with family in North Carolina. Mrs. Greene cherished the time spent with family and especially loved the large family gatherings the holidays brought. She had an exquisite talent for interior decorating.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 59 years, Arthur “Art” L. Greene of Moss Bluff; her children, Tanya Greene Chasson (Charlie) of Moss Bluff, Randy Greene of Alexandria, and Scott Greene (Jennifer) of Moss Bluff; a sister, Linda Parker Abel of Baker, LA; eleven grandchildren, Derrick and Jennifer Busby, Ashley, Brandy, and Corey Chasson, Big Brandon Thompson, Anna and Alexa Greene, and Little Brandon, Meagan, and Jayleigh Greene; nine great grandchildren; a special niece, Nancy White of Beaumont, TX; and a dear long time friend, Judy Chastain of Lake Charles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Dorothy Parker; four sisters, Vernell Sensat, Adele Roberts, Virgie Franklin, and Ruth Sommers; and a grandson, Stephen Greene.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at First Pentecostal Church. The Rev. Jeff Ralston will officiate. Burial will follow in the Old Ritchie Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin in the church on Monday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will resume on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Harbor Hospice for their excellent care and compassion as well as her brother in law, Harry Sommers for his unwavering faith.
