Carolyn Sue Reon

August 24, 1941 — July 6, 2023

Carolyn Sue Reon, 81, of Lake Charles passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023 in a Sulphur care center.

Carolyn was born in Lake Charles on August 24, 1941.  She chose to live a simple but beautiful life. Although she may have been small in stature, she was a giant when it came to love and compassion. Whether it was her love for Christ, her brother AJ, her niece and nephew or even her cats, when she loved…she loved BIG. Carolyn treasured researching her family lineage, spending hours doing puzzles, loving on her cats and spending time with those she loved the most. After graduating from LaGrange High School in 1959 she began a rewarding career as an LPN at Moss Regional where she touched the lives of many while nursing them back to health. Her selfless attitude towards the care of her patients lasted for 30 years until she retired from the same place she started. Carolyn was also a long time member of Trinity Bible Missionary Church of Lake Charles and you could find her there more days than not while she was physically able.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alus Reon, Sr. and her mother, Beulah Reon.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, AJ Reon (Cathy); nephew, Brian Reon (Jessica); and niece, Erin Reina (Nick); along with 7 great nephews and nieces.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at High Hope Care Facility that provided care and comfort to her as she transitioned to the next life.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 9, 2023 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel.  The Rev. William E. Whited will officiate.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and continue until the start of the service.  A graveside service will be held at 9:00 AM on Monday, July 10, 2023 in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
