Carrol Allen "Penu" Conner, 59, of Lake Charles passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 in a local hospital. Mr. Conner was born January 13, 1955 in Cameron, was raised in Lake Charles and Grand Chenier and educated at South Cameron High School. He has lived the past seven years in Iowa, LA. During his younger years, Mr. Conner worked as a Butcher at Roger's, his family's grocery. He worked most of his life as a Crain Operator, the past fourteen years for Crain Brother's, Inc. where he was currently project Time Keeper and Company Cook. He enjoyed fishing, yard sales, and flea markets and loved to cook and eat. Mr. Conner had a quick witt, great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He will be remembered for his love of family and his phone calls to his mother. He leaves to honor his memory, his mother, Ethel Conner Moore of Lake Charles; two sisters, Linda Saltzman and husband Ollan of Kinder and Elizabeth Ann Riggs and husband Danny of Deer Park, TX; sister-in-law, Joann Conner of Grand Chenier; many nieces and nephews and his friends of Crain Brother's. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Raymond Conner; step-father, Gilbert Moore, infant twin brother, Carl Alvin Conner and brother, James "Butch" Conner, Sr. Funeral services will be at 9:00 AM Thursday, January 16, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Alan Trouille will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Eugene Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation Thursday will be from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
