Caswell Cicero Herndon

February 26, 1923 — March 23, 2011

Caswell Cicero Herndon, 88, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 25 at 10a.m. at First Baptist Church in Sulphur, La. with Dr. David Holder officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 24 from 3-9p.m. in Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Friday at the First Baptist Church from 8:30 a.m. until service time Caswell was a native of North LA. coming to Sulphur in 1961. He married Emma Evelyn Brewer from Minden, LA., on August 10, 1946. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He also served as the music director at Parkview Baptist Church in Sulphur for approximately 20 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur where he sang and played the mandolin for the Agin Cajun Senior Choir. He was a faithful Christian man who loved the Lord and his family. He also loved to fish, garden and cook for his family. Caswell is survived by his wife, Evelyn Herndon of Sulphur, one son, Lin Herndon and wife, Barbara of Sulphur, 2 daughters, Sharilyn Anaker and her husband Mike, and Janis Adams all of Sulphur; one brother, Willie Paul Herndon and wife Martha, of Little Rock, AR, sister, Mary Alice McGowen of Onalaska, TX., 8 grandchildren, 19 great children, and 6 step grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Cal-Cam Hospital especially Dr. Kevin Schlamp for their help and compassion during this trying time. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
